Gertrude G. Frankenfield, 92, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

She was born in Reading to the late Herbert E. and Grace E. (Gates) Pendleton and was the wife of the late R. Donald Frankenfield who passed away in 2015.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ephrata. Gertrude was the valedictorian of the class of 1942 at Ephrata High School. She was a nursery school teacher at the Ephrata Rec Center, worked at the gift shop at the Ephrata Cloister and retired from the Ephrata Review. Gertrude enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and reading.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna K., wife of Lee Demmy, Diane L., wife of Jake Stief Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Tammy, wife of Perry Saunders, Troy, husband of Jill Mundorff, Stacey, wife of Jonas McGallicher and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Myrtle Albrecht and Betty Buchanan.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 22, from 10 to 11 am, at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, followed by her funeral service at 11 am, with Pastor Walter S. Carter officiating. Interment will take place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
