Obituary for Mary W. Raihl

Mary W. Raihl, 91 Years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Maple Farm Nursing Home, where she was a resident for the last 6 months.

She was born July 17, 1925, in Clay Township. She was the daughter of the late George R. and A. Mildred (Foose) Walter. She was of Lutheran faith.

Mary graduated from Ephrata High School in 1943. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in education in 3 years. She graduated in 1946 from Millersville State Teacher's College. She was a teacher in the Cocalico School District for 21 years, then worked as a waitress at Zinn's Diner for 27 years.

Mary is survived by two grandchildren, Mark (Kathleen) Jobes and Michelle Sola (Michael Strothers); four great-grandchildren, Pamela and Katherine Sola, Emily and Jacksen Jobes; and a brother George (Faye) Walter, Jr.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Faye (Raihl) Jobes; companion William Flory; and sisters Emily Shenk and Dorothy Woerner.

In accordance with her wishes, Mary will be cremated with no viewing. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Farm who contributed to Mary's care and comfort during her stay. Additionally, we would like to thank Sandy Stoltzfus, who provided additional comfort and care during her final days.
