Obituary for Glenn E. Balmer

Glenn E. Balmer, 87, of Stevens, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017, at home.

He was born in Halfville to the late Galen and Mae (Todd) Balmer and was the husband of the late Leah M. (Musser) Balmer who passed away in 2005.

Glenn was a member of the Reinholds VFW, and was an avid Phillies fan. He enjoyed bird watching, hunting, and going to Tioga County.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and served during the Korean War, working in Marine Aviation.

Glenn had worked as a brick and block layer for Harry Hainley.

Glenn is survived by a son, Russell L. Balmer, husband of Kathy of Lititz; 2 daughters, Linda K., wife of Quin Jones of Sinking Spring, and Debra J., wife of Donald Meckley of Ephrata; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Balmer and Nicole Mozeliak; 2 great-grandchildren, Braelin and Cayden; a brother, Bruce Balmer; and a sister, Norma Sonnen.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Balmer; 2 brothers, Larry and Donald Balmer.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday, July 14, from 10 to 11 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 11:00 am, with Pastor William Hamm, Jr. officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
