Obituary for Thomas D. Ostapuck, Jr.

Thomas D. Ostapuck, Jr., 81, of Stevens, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Weehawken, NJ, to the late Thomas, Sr. and Mildred (Fisher) Ostapuck and was the husband of Barbara (Miller) Ostapuck with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Thomas attended Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and taught special education at Cocalico Middle School, retiring in 1993. While at Cocalico, he kept score for the boys baseball team and the girls basketball team. He then worked at Nolt’s Pond, Manheim Auto Auction and was a driver for EARS. Thomas was a lifetime member of the PSEA and the NEA, he loved attending baseball games, reading and music.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tracy, wife of Jeffrey Love of Gretna, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Diane Ostapuck.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 320 Church Avenue, Ephrata, with The Rev. Father John J. McLoughlin, C.SS.R., as Celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery.
