Obituary for Kathleen R. "Kitty" Bensing (Stover)

Kathleen R. "Kitty" Bensing, 94, of Denver, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Samuel and Tillie Stover and was the wife of Warren R. Bensing who died in 2014.

Kitty was a member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years, head of the Altar Committee for many years and a part of Women of the Church. A sewing machine operator at A. N. Wolf Shoe Co., Denver, Kitty also worked on her own as a seamstress.

In addition to her husband, Kathleen is survived by a son, Kenneth W., husband of Ruthann (Buckwalter) Bensing of Terre Hill; grandchildren, Eric, husband of Denise (Shomo) Bensing, Briggitte, wife of Greg Brubaker; great-grandchildren, Nicole Shirk, Kyle Bensing,Travis Bensing, great-great-grandchildren, Haylee Shirk, Austyn Shirk, Mayson Shirk, Kayden Bensing, and Logan Bensing; a sister, Marian Oster of Ephrata, and a brother, Ken Stover.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Luther and Roger Stover; and sisters, Lillian Stover, Romaine Eckman, and Gloria Seener.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery.
