Obituary for Edith Roberts Jameson

Edith Roberts Jameson, 94, of Manheim, formerly of Akron, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at her residence. She was born on October 16, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Francis MacCulloch Roberts, Jr, and Helen Johnson (Roberts) Salmon. She was the loving wife of the late E. Carleton Jameson, Jr, MD, who she had been married to for 51 years.

Edith was a graduate of Germantown High School (Philadelphia) and attended Temple University (Philadelphia) and Beaver College (now Arcadia University, Glenside, PA). During World War II, she served in the United States Naval Reserve (Women's Reserve, WAVES) as a Specialist (Communications) 3rd Class. She was a cryptographer stationed in Washington, DC. During her lifetime, she was an avid outdoorswoman, enjoyed finishing woodworking projects that her husband had made, and was particularly fond of dining out at fine restaurants.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Donald L. Jameson of Gettysburg, PA, and E. Carleton Jameson, III, married to Pamela C., of Ambler, PA, and 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Nikolas, Anastasia, Michael, and Madison. She was the beloved half-brother of Anthony W. Salmon, Jr. and the late Anne Salmon Laub.

Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Military honors will be accorded by the Red Rose Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Pleasant View Retirement Community Benevolent Care Fund, c/o Development Office, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
