Obituary for Russell Elwood Sweigart

Russell Elwood Sweigart, 89, of Denver, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018, at home.

He was born in East Cocalico Township to the late Paul G. and Helen (Sensenig) Sweigart.

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church in Reamstown, and enjoyed gardening and farming.

Russell worked as a plasterer prior to retiring from Carpenter Technology in Reading.

Russell is survived by a son, Larry, husband of Ida Mae (Rudy) Sweigart of Denver, a daughter, Carol, wife of Leon Leslie Fasnacht of Stevens; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Leon Sweigart of South Dakota, Ruth Ann Waring, Janet Taylor, and Donald Sweigart, all of Melbourne, FL.

He was preceded in death by 1st wife, Geraldine (Labe) Sweigart in 1991, 2nd wife, Anna Mary (McElhenny) Sweigart in 2012; a brother, Chester Sweigart, and an infant brother.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 10 to 11 am at the St. Paul's EC Church, 46 E. Church Street, Reamstown, where funeral services will be conducted by his pastor, The Reverend Kirk Marks, at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.
