During one of my visits to Ron, he showed me his Model A Ford. I was very excited to see it because it was very similar to the first car my mother bought. I had heard many stories about her 1929 Model A with the rumble seat, which she bought in 1938 at age 18. She needed to drive to her first teaching job in a one- room school! When I shared that with Ron, he said, "Well, in that case, we should go for a ride!" What fun! As we chugged around town, I felt transported back in time to a more carefree era. I could imagine the adventues my mother had in her younger years. Ron invited her to come over from York county for a ride, but unfortunately, she wasn't well. I lost her later that year. Ron was a very special man and i'm very thankful for the times spent with him.
