Obituary for Barry Zimmerman

Barry  Zimmerman
Barry S. Zimmerman, 73, of Ephrata, passed away after a 14 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer, on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Fairmount Homes Inc..

He was born in Ephrata to Clayton and Mabel (Schweitzer) Zimmerman and was the husband of Linda (Hess) Zimmerman with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

He was a member of Ebenezer Evangelical Congregational Church, Brownstown.

Barry was a pastor for the past 14 years, during which he served at Ebenezer EC Church, Brownstown, Bethany EC Church, Martindale and St. Luke's EC Church, Shillington. He was previously employed by New Holland Machine for 28 years. He loved his God, his family and his church. He also loved people and serving them.

In addition to his wife, Barry is survived by a son, Todd B., husband of Amber (Winters) Zimmerman; two grandchildren, Megan and Evan and two sisters, Julia Rutt of Ephrata and Diane, wife of Walter Schlott of Denver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, C. Reuben Zimmerman, one week ago and a sister, Mirian Zimmerman.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, from 10 to 11 AM at the Ebenezer Evangelical Congregational Church, 23 S. State Street, Brownstown, followed by funeral services at 11 AM with Pastor Scott Phillips officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
