Obituary for Kay L. Fasnacht

Kay L. Fasnacht, 68, of Stevens, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 27, at the Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Alvin S. and Esther G. (Showalter) Fasnacht. He was also predeceased by a brother, Ray D. (Marveen) Fasnacht Sr. He is survived by his wife Gail L. (Groff) Fasnacht. They were married 40 years on June 25.

Surviving besides his wife are two children, Jamie K., wife of Zachary J. Weidler, Sinking Spring, and Justin A., husband of Brooke C. (Blansit), Kansas City, MO; two brothers Jay H. (Marian), Macungie, and Day G. (Joyce), Denver, and a sister Fay E. (Rev. Carl L.) Eberly, Ephrata; and four grandchildren Colton and Sadie Weidler and Zion and Judah Fasnacht.

He graduated from Cocalico Senior High School in 1967. He served in the army, including a tour in Vietnam. For 29 years, he was employed by Conestoga Wood Specialties as a woodworker. He was a generous supporter of the work of God. For over 30 years, he attended Lancaster Assembly of God where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school. He also recently attended Grace Fellowship Church, Shillington, where he developed a passion for missions.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 4 to 6 pm at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, March 5th, from 1 to 2 pm, at the Grace Fellowship Church, 622 Old Lancaster Pike, Shillington, PA 19607. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Ray Sensenig officiating. Interment will take place in the Blainsport Cemetery in Reinholds.
