Obituary for Daniel Martin Wanner

Daniel Martin Wanner, 77, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in Ephrata.

He was born in Brecknock Township, son of the late Daniel and Jennie B. (Martin) Wanner and was the husband of Sadie S. (Martin) Wanner.

Daniel was a member of the Stauffer Mennonite Church, Earl Township. He had been a self employed farmer and painter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 6 children, Leonard, husband of June (Martin) Wanner of Ephrata, Jerome, husband of Norlene (Zimmerman) Wanner of New Holland, Loveda, wife of Earl Weaver of Ephrata, Treva, wife of Vernon Martin of Shobonier, IL, Rosetta, wife of Arnold Martin of St. Peter, IL, Jerelyn, wife of Gary Martin of Ephrata; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Martin, husband of Sally (Martin) Wanner of Port Trevorton, John, husband of Rose (Stauffer) Wanner of Port Trevorton; 5 sisters, Mary Wanner of Lancaster, Ella Rissler of Ephrata, Ada Martin of Ephrata, Barbara Wanner of Canada, Anna Martin of Mt. Pleasant Mills; 3 sisters-in-law, Martha Wanner of TN, Ruth Wanner of Port Trevorton and Anny Mary Wanner of Port Trevorton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 grandsons; 4 brothers, Harry, William, Aaron and Samuel Wanner; 3 brothers-in-law, Daniel Rissler, Ivan Martin and Levi Martin.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Earl Weaver residence, 430 Hahnstown Rd., Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, at the Earl Weaver residence at 8:30 am, with further services at 9:30 am, at the Stauffer Mennonite Church, Earl Township. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
