Obituary for Shirley A. Royer

Shirley A.  Royer
Shirley A. Royer, 81, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Lancashire Hall.

She was born in Letort to the late Robert and Mary (Heisey) Kilefner and was the wife of Donald G. Royer with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Shirley had worked as a sewing machine operator at Cinderella Knitting Mill, Denver as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed going to the cabin in Potter County, snowmobiling, sewing sock monkeys and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 daughters, Donna, wife of the late Thomas VonNieda of Ephrata, Dianne, wife of Dennis Leeking of Lititz; 6 grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Robert, David, Josh and Dan; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert, husband of Jane Kilefner; 2 sisters, Nancy, wife of David Popple and Ruth, wife of Carl Stanfil.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Jean Doyle and Mary Leibfried.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 5, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday, August 6, at the funeral home, from 10 to 11 am, followed by her funeral service at 11 am, with Rev. Jason L. Hoy officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
