Obituary for Robert P. Drazba

Robert P. Drazba
Robert "Bob" P. Drazba, 80, of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Scranton to the late Felix G. and Margaret C. (Nawrocki) Drazba and was the husband of Suzanne (Heller) Drazba whom he loved and cherished for the past 22 years of marriage.

Bob was a true "soldier" in his fight against Parkinson's since 2005, never letting it serve as an obstacle to living life to its fullest.

He graduated from Johnson Technical Institute and was a telecommunications sales consultant for over 20 years before retiring in 2000. His passion after retirement was owning "The Clubmaker" where he custom fit and repaired thousands of golf clubs. Bob served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Kenneth D. Bailey Destroyer Escort DE-552 as a second class yeoman.

Bob took tremendous joy from his customers whether in the telecommunications industry or the golf world! He was a passionate "tinkerer" and his family believes he could fix just about anything. He loved his family and friends dearly and he shall be sorely missed by all. His favorite way to start each day was prayer time, followed by breakfast with all his buddies at The Pancake Farm in Ephrata, where he'd proudly unveil his "crazy" socks of the day. Bob thoroughly loved people and thrived on bringing them joy.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by a son, Robert, husband of Kelli Drazba; a daughter, Ann C. Drazba; a daughter-in-law, Tina Drazba; 7 grandchildren, Lindsey Drazba, Nicolle Cuddey Christine Cuddey, David Drazba, Jennifer Drazba, Rachel Drazba, Emily Drazba and his first wife and mother of his children, Muriel Simpkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Drazba and a sister, Maryann Drazba Bauer.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017, 7 PM at The Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, with Pastor Sam Smucker officiating, followed by a reception. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family with military honors accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to Rock Steady Boxing (a Parkinson's exercise/wellness program), c/o Sue Ludwig, 2740 Rothsville Road, Lititz, PA 17543.

Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/Ephrata.
