Obituary for Charles H. Lesher

Charles H.  Lesher
Charles H. Lesher, 89, of Denver, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in West Reading to the late Pierce F. and Ada (Hoshauer) Lesher and was the husband of Betty J. (Wink) Lesher, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage on June 6th.

Charles was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Denver. He was also a lifetime member of Brendle Coleman Post V.F.W., Adamstown, where he was a past Post Commander, Chaplain and Trustee, life member, Secretary, and Chief of Staff of the Cooties, life member of the American Legion, Avon, NJ, US Navy Club Assoc., and US Navy Cruiser Assoc. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.

A 1947 graduate of Shillington High School, Charles was a veteran who served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Charles worked for Eastman Kodak for 24 years prior to his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by 2 sons, Michael C. Lesher and wife Patricia, Randall S. Lesher and wife Darlene; a daughter, Lynn Dee Fedina; 8 grandchildren, Shawn, Troy, Tabitha, Nicholas, Michael, Quinn, Lance, and Dustin; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Pierce F. Lesher, Jr. and wife Ethel (Shober); and a sister Mary Ann Fritz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle; 5 brothers, Richard Farlow, Walter, Samuel, and Frederick Lesher, and Chester Witman; and a sister, Joann Schlegel.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 16, from 10 to 11 am, at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Bradley Haws officiating. Interment will take place in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, where military rites will be accorded by the Red Rose Veterans and 21 Vet Salute Honor Guards.
