Obituary for Roger P. Sweigart Sr.
Roger P. Sweigart, Sr., 79, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.
He was born in Lancaster to the late Clarence and Anna (Fink) Sweigart and was the husband of Sylvia F. (Moore) Sweigart with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Roger was a member of the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren. He worked in the food industry his whole life. He had been the owner/operator of Sweigart Steak Shop and Restaurant and later was a cook at Shady Maple Smorgasbord.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Roger Jr., husband of Cindy (Pauken) Sweigart of Maumee, OH; a daughter, Julie Lynn Campbel of Dover, DE; 4 grandchildren and a brother, Ronald Sweigart.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Church Rd., Lititz, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., with Pastors Wilbur Rohrer and Paul Brubaker officiating. By request, there will be no viewing. Interment will be private in the Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roger's memory may be made to the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren Mission Fund, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz, PA 17543.
